Tanika Lester is the Manager of the Division of College, Career & Technical Education with Shelby County Schools in Memphis, TN. She began her career in the classroom as a Business Technology teacher. After eleven years, she moved into administration and began advocating for career and technical education programs. Tanika understands the positive effects of career and technical education, and works tirelessly to ensure that all SCS students are exposed to programs that provide the technical and academic skills necessary for success in future careers. All SCS CTE programs include some form of postsecondary training and industry certification attainment. Last year, Tanika led the academic team with students earning 2,728 industry recognized certifications! The goal is to produce Ready Graduates – ready for college and career.

Art Maxwell finds joy and happiness when he can serve others. For the past 8 years he’s had the privilege to serve teachers and administrators all over the United States and call it “work”. While spending time with Educators, his primary role has been to bring the challenging, yet achievable industry recognized certifications into the classroom to prepare students for their college campaign and/or future career. Art has not been afraid to eat his own cooking either. In this role he has earned several Microsoft Office Specialist or MOS certifications, IC3 Digital Literacy certifications, and is currently working on some of the Adobe Certified Associate or ACA certifications to couple with his passion for photography and film. He also very passionate about tacos of all kinds!
